Malta è un arcipelago situato a sud della Sicilia, e formato principalmente da tre isole: Malta, 245.7 km² - Gozo, 67 km² - e la minuscola Comino, 2.8 km². La superficie è di km² 315.6, particolare che fa di Malta uno dei più piccoli Stati dell'Europa.
Le isole maltesi godono di un clima salubre, con inverni miti e una stagione estiva calda. Sono completamente assenti venti freddi, gelo e nebbia. La stagione piovosa è compresa tra settembre e aprile. Raramente piove dopo il mese d’aprile e quasi mai durante l’estate. La temperatura media invernale è pari a 16° C (nov-apr), quella estiva è di 30° C (magg-ott). Il periodo più caldo va da metà luglio a metà settembre circa. Le isole, giorno e notte, godono di un clima molto piacevole grazie alle fresche brezze di mare. Non ci sono montagne né fiumi. I campi, per lo più, sono piccoli e terrazzati; nonostante l’assenza di pioggia e i terreni difficilmente coltivabili, l’agricoltura è una risorsa ben sviluppata. Nessun altro gruppo d’isole può offrire bellezze naturali, arte, architettura, divertimenti e attività quanto Malta. Qui non si hanno problemi di distanza, tutto è facilmente accessibile e dietro ad ogni angolo vi attende una sorpresa. The Maltese Islands enjoy a healthy climate, with mild winters and a hot summer season. Cold winds, snow, frost and fog are unknown. Rain falls between September and April. It seldom rains after April, and nearly never in summertime. The temperature averages 16° C in winter (Nov-Apr) and 30° C during the summer (May-Oct). The hottest period is from mid-July through mid-September although the islands seldom get too hot, as the summer days and nights are regularly tempered by cool sea breezes. There are no mountains or rivers. The majority of fields are small and terraced, but despite lack of rain and other adverse terrain conditions, agriculture is well developed. No other group of islands can offer as much natural beauty, art and architecture, entertainment and activity as Malta can. Everything here is close, unexpected and easily accessible. Thanks to an excellent bus and boat service, a visitor can enjoy a variety of different experiences on the same day.
