Ceuta è un possedimento spagnolo sul continente africano, si affaccia sul mediterraneo nell'area del mare di Alboran nei pressi dello stretto di Gibilterra. Ceuta confina con il Marocco ,ha una superficie di circa 28 chilometri quadrati e una popolazione di 72.000 abitanti circa. Si trattadi una piazzaforte spagnole sul mare con un porto attrezzato. Nella storia Ceuta è stata dominata dai cartaginesi, romani, visigoti e arabi, fino a quando venne conquistata dal Portogallo, nel quindicesimo secolo, che la cedette definitivamente alla Spagna nel 1668. Il porto di Ceuta è sede di Autorità portuale il cui presidente José Francisco Torrado López. L'economia della città è basata sul turismo, sulle attività portali, il porto è collegato con linee regolari con Algeciras e Malaga, il traghetto collega Ceuta ad Algeciras in circa 45 minuti..
